Entrepreneur. Speaker. Author.
With a positive energy that is contagious, Dawn Fitch has established herself as a premiere voice in the health and wellness space. She is the founder and CEO of the multi-million dollar, handmade bath and body company, Pooka Pure and Simple, and a highly sought after speaker.
After receiving a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, Dawn actively sought ways to fight not just the physical challenges of her illness but the mental and emotional turmoil that often comes with such news. Instead of allowing those negative thoughts to take root, she adopted a healthier lifestyle using natural and alternative remedies and eventually started making and selling her own products. “I said to myself, ‘This is your only life, you have to get better’ and that began a shift that led to my own journey toward healing and the desire to share that with the world,” Dawn says. The response was tremendous! She regularly sold out of products at festivals and, ultimately, Pooka was born!
Dawn has been a speaker on a number of high profile platforms including the Black Enterprise and Entrepreneurs Conference, the Girl Scouts of America Gold Awards, and the National Black MBA Association‘s National Conference. With appearances on The Today Show, CBS Evening News, AriseTV and various other TV outlets, regular features in Essence Magazine as a top 20 Black beauty brand, and a cover feature on a 2012 issue of Black Enterprise magazine, Dawn has shared her health advocacy and entrepreneurship platforms widely. As a result, she’s been awarded the Influencer Award for Entrepreneurship by The Urban League, the Black Executive Award by the African American Chambers of Commerce, and the Agent of Change award from the National Council of Negro Women.
Using humor and her deep well of knowledge and experience, Dawn is a dynamic and impactful speaker. She actively uses her work and her words to engage, encourage, and empower women—particularly those living with auto immune diseases. Most recently, she has built an online community for women called The Best Life Tribe where she can further encourage the exploration of natural/alternative healing and lifestyles. The group, which began in November 2017 with 20 women, has grown exponentially in under a year (7000%).
